Monday Funday

Today's quilting.  I love how it shows up in the solids.

This was from a few days ago.   Both customer quilts.

Someone please make it stop raining already!   It's so dull and dreary here that I can't think.   I guess it's winter so it's supposed to be dark alot.   On a Christmas kick in the sewing room.   Bought some fabric today to make some gifts with.   I would show you, but then it wouldn't be such a big surprise then.   Almost done with the Christmas orders for the year.   Now onto the others that are waiting so patiently.   Now if I could find time to shop.   It always works out but my time is running out.   Supposed to snow a bit tonight, maybe that will make my mind think it's December.   I had a wonderful time at our Monday group today.   We had a mini party.   So nice!   Off to work tomorrow, but may have some sewing time tomorrow nite.

Been going to Blade Runners in Cranberry to skate.  Great exercise and there is no one there but us!

These are from patterns I bought from Country Stitchin  at the Beaver Valley Quilt show in October.   They are about 20 x 60.   Now just have to find the time to get them quilted.   Thought they turned out pretty cute.

Since i was a slacker and didn't post for a few weeks, thought I would play catch up.   Can you believe Roses this pretty in my yard in December!   Crazy.   They weren't this pretty in the middle of summer.
And of course there was this beautiful mum that I hope makes it through our winter so I can watch it bloom again next year!

The middle part of this was pieced by Kathy Smartnick.   I added the borders and quilted it.  If you would like to win this, let me know and I can hook you up with some tickets.   It's quilted with stars.

This was a gift for a very special girl.

quilted it with horses.  yeah!

More in the next few days as I've been very productive along with my being busy.

This was a whole day job.  This is what happens when you decide to do a quilt on Point and you cut the setting triangles on the bias and then put borders on that arn't measured or put on proper.   When it's loaded on my frame, all this adds up to a this:

So you ask,,, what on earth do you do with that?   Well I take a seam ripper to it and take out the seam.   decide how much to cut out.   Sew it back by hand stitching it with an applique stitch and then:

After it's hand stitched, I can then resume quilting.   This is what it looks like after the fix.
After a day of this, here is how I feel

It's been a few crazy weeks here with decorating, cooking turkey dinner and of course quilting!   My tree:
Under the tree we have a Christmas tradition.   It started out with a small villiage of some homemade houses and has evolved into a very beautiful display.

No villiage is complete without Home Depot for my hubby of course,
And for me:   Joann's Fabrics

Well the cooking part  was so busy we forgot to take pictures.  But the thanksgiving table was huge and full of food and friends.   Maybe next year I will remember to take some photos to document it.

Roses from my anniversary.   Yeppers I've been with Jim for 33 years!   Seems like yesterday that we were dating.   It all goes so fast.
We to a benefit dinner last nite and they had a huge Chinese Auction.   I won this tree.   I put a few tickets in the bag and was wishing they would pull mine.   I love it!  Got to see friends that I haven't seen in a while.   Funny how you just pick up like nothing has changed.
Quilting a customer quilt today.   Just a simple meander on it.  Love these fabrics.   It's going to be so soft.

Started cleaning on Sunday and that lead to more today.   Cleaned my laundry room out.   I probably pitched a dozen empty boxes.   We use the things up and somehow the empty cartons just lay there taking up space.   Stink Bugs are my horror story here.   Found a bunch in a corner again.  Ick!   Then I decided to run the sweeper before leaving for my Monday group and on the way through the kitchen found a small tuft of hair from my son's cat behind the hutch.   I thought I should just move it out a little and run the sweeper behind it before company coming on thansgiving.   Well when I moved it,,, I hear breaking glass.   Like a lot of it.   Oh no!   Yep the back of the cabinet was coming off and all the stuff which I have a huge amount of glass in there was falling out the back and crashing.  Well I put a note on it Not to touch it for Jim, and left it.   It's still in that state and I'm not looking forward to tonight when I will have a chance to undertake the cleanup.  Well I guess that will leave more space for more junk in there.   lol.
